Helping women participate in the political field by training and mentoring!
NWPC hosts campaign training for candidates and campaign staff to provide women with the skills they need to run winning campaigns. Workshops focus on the essentials of fundraising, media and campaign management as well as message development and get-out-the-vote strategies.
Wine Down Wednesday
On various Wednesdays throughout the year, NWPC/FL hosts intimate gatherings in a casual setting to allow candidates to mingle with our members.
According to research done at the Harvard University Institute of Politics, one of the ways to increase women’s numbers in politics is to “create a culture in which mentoring other women becomes a matter of course for successful politicians. Strong female leaders beget more female leadership.” Their research further showed that a solution is for organizations to try to increase the number of women with like-minded ideologies by targeting the candidate emergence process, reminding women in a position to run that they ought to consider doing so, and assuring them of sufficient support if they decide to become candidates. Mentors can be found in the ranks of women who have recently run or already secured political office.
If you’re considering running for office but don’t know where to begin, we can connect you with a Mentor to help you know where you need to go!
